Unfinished Business: Now been released
PMETB: Going to statutes.
MPET Funding: Nothing new
RCP Generic skills Course: Published on 29/4/03 – 12 modules with an exercise of approx 1 hr. Cost £200. Details on RCP website. Maybe useful support for generic skills element of Foundation SHO programmes.
360 degree Appraisal: Being revised and trialled. Absract accepted by AMEE for Bern. Cascade by Deanery reps for volunteers for pilot.

This was tabled - Deanery representative have copies.
NACT/Wyeth Travelling Fellowship 2003/Ahec Fellow:
Hot topics link being set up between AHEC & UK to act as an induction for both fellows. NACT?Wyeth application forms on website. AHEC Fellow Prof Bil Hensel arriving September.
Meetings:
  1. PGCT’s & College Tutors Day, RCP 11/3/03:Feed back generally good. Could be growth issue report to go on website.
  2. Spring Meeting 8/9 May 2003, Nairn, Scotland: Initial feeling very successful.
  3. AMEE 31 Aug – 3 Sept, Bern, Switzerland: NACT running usual workshop paperwork now out – do book early as places limited.
  4. Winter Meeting 28 Nov 2003 – RCP: Joint with NAMEM: Programme being developed including workshop sessions both am & pm.
  5. Spring Meeting 6/7 May 2004 – Boston, Lincs. Pilgrim Hospital & Woodhall Spa both booked. Golf match on local course.
  6. 6th Joint Conference 2005 – Norwich. University of East Anglia is booked.
  7. Spring Meeting May 2006 – Northern Ireland. An exact venue is still to be arranged.
ECT Courses – going well
NACT Deanery Representative:
Draft paper going to next COPMeD mtg. Will be cascaded soon
Refugee Doctors:
Their website very successful. Suggested link with NACTwebsite.
SHO Modernisation:
Views cascaded to Deanery reps. CTs need to know feedback from pilots asap. More info on website shortly.
RCPCollege/Deans Liaison Committee:
RCP advocating European WTD should be postponed as many units would not be viable if fully implemented.
PGCTs Induction & Appraisal:
To be cascaded through Deanery reps for distribution.
AMRC Visits Working Party:
NACT has now been asked to join.

Royal Colleges - RCOphth:
Concerns over PMETB legislation- Colleges will probably be landed with assessing of previous experience of Overseas Drs applying for CCST.
RCPCH – Prof Alan Craft is now President. NSF is unfunded. Modernising Medical Careers now an issue. Concerns over shortening length of SpR training.
ASME – No report
APMS – no report as no replacement identified for Dr Rake.
UKCEA – no report as no representative.
NAMEM: Spring Meeting well attended. Study leave application doesn’t always go through CT – members need support from their CTs. Still no rep on Council for London & South East and now Scotland.
Libraries: no report.
JCPTGP: PMETB and modernising medical concerns were main topics on agenda.
BAMM – waiting for representative to be identified – chairman to contact Jenny Simpson.
RC Int Forum: Membership should not be renewed as little effecting NACT.

  10. North West (East) – Dr Brett is to be replaced by Dr Mike Chshire. Larger report at next meeting.
  11. Sth Yorks & Sth Humberside – Dr Mackie reported that deanery has set up SHO foundation pilot (FY2) beginning in August with 12 drs. Concerns over workload for participating consultants. Suggestion it should be on programme for Spring Meeting 2004.

ABPI:
No meeting as yet – reluctance to sponsor at central level.
AOB:
It was agreed to look into trying to persuade AV equipment providers to advertise on the website to help support it.
