SYNOPSIS OF COUNCIL MEETING
12th JULY 2002
This was attended by 4 Officers, and 9 Deanery Representatives.
- Chairman’s Report:
- This was tabled - deanery reps have copies.
- NACT/WYETH Travelling Fellowship 2003:
- Application forms sent out and can be found on NACT website. All CT's encouraged to apply.
- MEETINGS:

- AMEE - 29/8 -01/9 2002 - Lisbon - NACT will be running usual workshop with Drs Thomson, Long and Byatt facilitating. All CT's encouraged to attend.
- 5th Joint Conference 10-12 July 2002 - Bournemouth. Feedback on their website.
- Winter 2002- 29th November, 2002 RCP.- Title " Problems with you career, Docotor? How can the Clinical Tutor help?" - Programme due out shortly.
- Spring 8/9 May 2003 - Being held at the Newton Hotel 4-5 miles from airport. Speakers so far: Prof Sir Graeme Catto,Dr Graham Buckley, Prof Bob Frier.
- Winter 2003 - 28th November, RCPJoint Meeting with NAMEM.
- Spring Meeting 2004 - Trent Deanery possibly Pilgrim Hospital.
- Spring Meeting 2006 - Possibly Northern Ireland
- Joint Mtg of CT's & College Tutors - possibly early 2003 - to explore interface between their respective jobs.
- Courses:
- All running well and fully booked. Deans asked to be informed of non show by any of their CT's. Dates for 2003 being published shortly.
- Strategy & Business Plan:
- Copies are being cascaded through Deanery reps for consideration. Ratification at next meeting on October 4th. A risk Assessment document is also required by Charity Law also included.
- Refugee Doctors Liaison Group:
- Further updates to be published on NACT website.
- ABPI:
- Annual meeting being arranged.

Disquiet expressed over confusion of plan to create 200 SHO for GP vocational training. Only 87 posts actually created so far. Many bids failed due to stringent RCGP regulations. Chairman to write to clarify situation.
