SYNOPSIS OF COUNCIL MEETING
10th JANUARY 2003
Attended by 6 Officers, 1 Co-opted member and 10 Deanery Representative.
Matters arising from Last Council Meeting
Trust Drs/GP VTS SHO Conversion: Some further posts to start for 1 yr from Feb 03; more from Aug 03. RCGP recognition may be limited to 1 yr. Future of these posts looks uncertain – outcome of “Unfinished Business” may determine their future.
Unfinished Business: Chairman cascaded details to to membership via Deanery Reps.
PMETB: Will be in effect by 2004. If seat on PMETB board then NACT will bid for one.
MPET Funding: Need to encourage supplementary funding streams from within Trusts to protect resources for future. Capital funding more difficult – maybe lost – med ed funding maybe merged into whole. May be problems at Trust level if education was remit of Human Resources as oppose to an educationally minded MD.
