This 2-DAY Essential Knowledge course provides insight into the wide range of Clinical Tutor's/Director's role in the NHS today and offers a sound working framework for the newly appointed Clinical Tutor/Director and may also be beneficial to those who have been in post for some time. It is designed to be participative and interactive.
The programme will cover:

- Educational concerns of the new tutor
- Building networks and support
- Evaluation and monitoring
- Educational contracts
- Service-based learning
- Education and clinical governance
Management
- Time management
- Change management
- Influencing and negotiating styles
- Budgets and costs
Counselling and support
- Induction
- Career advice and counselling
- Managing counselling systems
Other areas of concern will be addressed as they arise. PLEASE NOTE THE PROGRAMME IS DETERMINED ON THE TUESDAY EVENING AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE ATTENDEES.
The course will start on the Tuesday evening at 7.30 p.m. at a locally booked hotel followed by a buffet supper and finishing at 9.30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday morning will start at 9.00 a.m. at the Postgraduate Centre, finishing at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday and approx 4.00 p.m. on the Thursday. An optional course dinner is always arranged on the Wednesday evening at a local venue of interest.
